Has your jewellery lost its shine or turned black? Here are a few tips to help you restore their shine!
But above all, it's essential to pay attention to how you use the jewellery so that it lasts over time. That's why we've put together a short list of DO's and DON'Ts:
DON'T :
- Wear your jewellery when using chemical or toxic products that could attack the metal of the jewellery.
- Wear your jewellery when you do the housework
- Wear your jewellery by the sea or swimming pool
- Wear your jewellery to sleep
- Wear your jewellery in the shower
DO :
- Clean your jewellery regularly to prevent it from becoming too dirty
- Keep your jewellery in a jewellery box or protective case when you are not wearing it.
Tips for removing black marks:
- Baking soda or lemon juice
Moisten a toothbrush with soft bristles, place a little bicarbonate of soda or lemon juice on it and scrub gently. Rinse thoroughly. You'll notice that the black marks disappear!
- Toothpaste
Once again, moisten a soft-bristled toothbrush, apply a little toothpaste (just a little), then gently scrub your jewellery. Rinse thoroughly and your jewellery will be as good as new!
- Cola or white vinegar
Fill a bowl with cola or white vinegar.
To use vinegar, leave your jewellery to soak for 1 to 2 hours. Rinse thoroughly to prevent the jewellery from sticking.
For Cola, soak your jewellery overnight. Rinse thoroughly to avoid the jewellery sticking afterwards.
Tips for restoring shine:
- Chamoisine
Take a chamois or glasses cloth and gently rub your jewellery. This will restore the shine to your jewellery!
